So i was Tagged...
Tai tagged me a while ago..so I guess I should do this, might be fun.
The Rules:
Link to your tagger and list the rules.
List 7 random facts about yourself.
Tag 7 people (and make sure you check back and see what they say!).
If you’re tagged, play along and pass it on!
#1 - I absolutely LOVE the smell of Obtundia.
#2 - I once jumped into a river after a soccer ball in April. There were still chunks of ice floating past, and I was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans...so even without the frigid water, I would still have had a hard time swimming. As soon as my body hit that water, I experienced a massive tension of ever muscle in my body...i could barely move. Yes, I did get the soccer ball, but i couldn't stand once i got to shore, and i felt like i was going to throw up. My aunt and brother helped me into the house where they put me in the shower (clothes and all) and turned on the hot water. I lived.
#3 - I saw Fireproof 4 times and spent over $200 bringing family and friends with me. I consider it an investment.
#4 - A major goal in my life is to eat as many types of cheese as I can. I love cheese. CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE...If cheese were a woman she would be my wife!
#5 - I was involved in a mix of Mime/drama/hip hop for 5 years...yeah I still got some moves, i just don't use em much anymore.
#6 - I love to design stuff...ANYTHING. I love making custom clothes, not the actual fabrication part...but adding things to them. I just started making a bunch of shirts with spraypaint and stencils...man i love it. I'm always drawing, sketching and doodling on whatever i can get my hands on. needless to say, I was a terror when i was younger. Once Amanda and I drew all over the walls of my aunt and uncles bedroom...with permanent marker.
#7 - I own 6 Pokemon cards...all extremely rare. They are in a card case waiting for the day that I can cash them in and buy a house....or maybe a car...or a Macbook...or maybe a new sketchpad...or maybe some new socks.
Awwww...do I hafta tag anyone? I don't wanna...ok humm....I tag Chuck Norris.

The End of a Legend...
Today, I will cut my hair. I have achieved my goal of growing it out to ponytail length, I have been mistaken as Prince Caspian many times, I have been in the newspaper, on blogs and in Facebook albums...all thanks to my hair.
But alas, the time has come...no more will I scare my mother when I walk into the kitchen in the morning. No more will I suffocate when I go swimming. No more will I have to constantly keep tucking renegade wisps into my hat.
Thank you all for your support, or lack of which.

BASS PRO SHOPS
This bear was picking a fight with me. He said mean things about my mother and the way I dressed...really! He did! Almost got kicked out when I punched it in the face, he fell off the balcony and landed in the fish tank...which in turn shattered and flooded the entire lower floor (betcha didn't know there was THAT much water in the tank) which then swept this poor old woman right out the back door and into the swamp behind the building...I think they overreacted just a bit.

I wrote the last part just a few minutes ago...
I miss you Papa.
Though I do not carry the name of Flynn, I have the same “mutated” genes as my grandfather. On an early morning bike ride through town one day, I was pulled over by a cop who wanted to know the reason why I wasn’t in school. I started explaining that I was home schooled when he stopped me and asked, “Are you a Flynn”? I told him that my mother was a Flynn, in which he responded by saying, “I thought so, you look just like your grandfather.”
When we were younger, we would all sit around in a half circle, waiting for papa (as we called him) to pop out his false teeth. When he did, we would run screaming out of the room, only to enter timidly a few seconds later, wanting him to do it again.
I remember one time, while I was helping him down the stairs, my grandmother stood at the bottom and called up, “Jack, hold onto the railing! You twit.” In which he responded in his usual manner, “Thanks Marilyn, I wouldn’t want to trip and fall on you…I might hurt myself.”
“Hey! Knock it off!” One of the more popular sayings of my grandfather, in which all of the grandkids have, at one time or another tried to imitate.
“You don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here.”
“Whaddya got, a broken leg?”
“Shut the door, you’re letting out the cold!”
“Come again when you can’t stay so long.”
And the less than tasteful, “For a fat broad, you don’t smell bad.”
There are some things money can’t buy. Among those things are the memories, fellowship, sidesplitting laugher, and love that one experiences by knowing Jack Flynn.
I love my grandfather, and I thank God that he put me in a family with such a heritage to pass on to future generations. If I can be half the grandfather he is to me, I will die a happy man.
March 3, one day after Papa passed on to go home.
I left work early today, I felt pretty good this morning so I thought I could make it through the day. After a few hours, everything came undone. I couldn’t concentrate, made parfaits upside down and forgot how to top pizzas. I went into my boss’s office and broke down, I just couldn‘t do ANYTHING.
Walking home a few minutes later I had time to think. I’m glad the wind was icy cold, that way no one driving by would be able to tell the difference between my eyes watering and the tears running down my face. I thought about a lot of things during those cold 20 minutes. Mostly about how blessed I was to have known Papa like I did.
I walked by a house where last summer, I was at a yard sale. I was helping a woman carry her things to her car. After placing them in the trunk, she turned to me and asked me if I was a Flynn. I answered that I was and asked how she knew. She put her hand on my arm and said: “You look just like your grandfather.”
No other compliment could make me feel more proud. There is no one I would rather physically resemble. When I get to heaven I wouldn’t be surprised if Jesus looked me in the eye, placed his arm around me, and whispered:
”You look just like your grandfather”
Papa, I know you’re watching from up there. I want you to know that I love you, and I look forward to the day when I see you again waiting for me just inside those pearly gates. You’ll walk up to me, lightly punch me in the gut and say: “Like a rock”.

New drawing...
Here's the preliminary sketch:

I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. Next I was off to the computer to scan and do some coloring! This is what I came up with:

After numerous questions from family members on why her eyes were closed...(They wouldn't accept: "Because I drew her that way!")...I decided that she would be praying.
Here's a little sumpin' I did with that idea in mind.

Anyway...that's my exciting post for today...I hope to have another one done soon.
I'll keep you posted....haha, that's funny.

Hidden promises in God's Creation...
Just the other day, our family listened to Louie Giglio, a man who travels with Chris Tomlin and talkes during the intermissions at the shows. He spoke of how creation declares the wonders of God...boy does it ever.
He showed the audience a recent picture of a newly found black hole in our whirlpool galaxy...check it out...
Amazing huh? A Cross in the middle of a black hole...Here's another one that threw me for a loop...
Have you ever heard of a protein molecule called Laminin? Yeah, I hadn't either...until the other day. It's called the Cell Adhesion Molecule...it hold cells together. The entire human body is held together by Laminin...without Laminin, we would fall apart. You know the steel rebar they put into concrete to hold it up....yeah it's like that stuff.
Anyway...Check out the molecular structure for a Laminin Molecule:

...Look familiar? It's a cross!!!
Colossians 1:16+17
16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Our bodies are being held together by millions of little crosses! God is so amazing. After watching this presentation, I went right out and bought the Chris Tomlin CD that had a DVD of Louie Giglio included with it. I encourage everyone to get this CD, not only is it great music...but you NEED to watch Louie's talk. He has many more interesting things in there that I didn't mention...now you HAVE to see it!
